Observing the Moon: The Modern Astronomer's Guide (2nd edition)

This book gives an overview of moon astronomy as well as lots of tips and tricks to help the amateur astronomer. It is very clearly written and it split into two sections: theoretical aspects of the moon and telescopes, and then details of a selection of sites on the moon for the reader to look at. It does require a basic previous knowledge of physics and telescope design, but this should not be beyond the interested amateur and many concepts are explained well in the book (e.g. how lunar and solar eclipses occur).
