Pictures of the Past: The 17th and 18th Centuries on Film

Clearly a work‐in‐progress, this free Pictures of the Past web site could evolve into one that might serve as a simple bibliographic quick‐reference of films focused in time periods from 1600 to 1799. Do you need to find a film to show your students what typical dress looked like in mid 1600s Europe? The Girl with the Pearl Earring might be useful. I like the simplicity of the interface of this site with its colour‐coordinated references to setting year, because the information presented is not overwhelming, nor does it crowd the page.
