Global Voices Online is committed to exploring issues and news from around the world from the viewpoint of the people, including those in the countries and regions involved. Describing itself as “a leading participatory news room for voices from the developing world”, Global Voices contains blogs, videos, podcasts, and photographs culled by volunteer contributors, translators, and freelance editors. Available content spans back through 2005, the project's inception. While countries throughout the world are represented, the site explains that its focus is on countries outside of North America and Western Europe, because these regions are “already over‐represented in the global media”....
