Forest Encyclopedia Network

The Forest Encyclopedia Network (FEN) is a project begun in 2002 by scientists working for the US Forest Service. Today it is edited and maintained by one of the original founders, Michael Rauscher, now retired from the Forest Service. The project initially received a grant to further its efforts; it is not clear how it is being sustained today. Multiple contributors, both from the Federal sector and academia, write sections on primarily the US southern forest, its management, ecology, pests, diseases, and more.
