The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), governs marine resources and ecosystems through the National Marine Fisheries Services. The Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC) is the research branch of NMFS for Alaska fisheries and is headquartered in Seattle, Washington with field stations and some program offices in Alaska.
