Since its foundation in 1966, the Antique Collectors' Club has gone from strength to strength, publishing many of today's standard works of reference on all things antique and collectible, and extending into architecture, garden design and textiles. Delightful as it is to receive these magnificent books to review, it is a burden too, for how can one possibly do justice to, in this case, 750 full colour illustrations of top quality photography, a beautifully designed book, and a detailed and authoritative text? The “drool” factor interferes with objective criticism: these are not just books, they are works of art!
