Encyclopedia of Library and Information Sciences (3rd edition)

This 3rd edition of the Encyclopedia of Library and Information Science, or ELIS3 as it is referred to in the introductory matter, appears just seven years after the second edition which I also had the privilege of reviewing in these columns (RR 2004/356). The four volume 2nd edition edited by Miriam Drake and issued under the now defunct Dekker imprint was in turn a successor to the mammoth first edition.
