The Medieval and Early Modern Manuscripts Collection at the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center of the University of Texas at Austin consists of over 200 manuscripts dating from the eleventh to seventeenth centuries, though the bulk of the collection falls between the 1400s‐1600s. The manuscripts originated in various countries, and are written in a variety of languages, including Dutch, English, Flemish, French, German, Hebrew, and others. Some of the most impressive items in the collection are several different “books of hours” – beautifully illustrated devotional texts dating from the fifteenth century.
