The George Washington Carver Digital Collection

The George Washington Carver Digital Collection is presented by Iowa State University's e‐Library. It features a portion of the collection of Carver's Papers (1893‐on going), housed at the Iowa State University's Special Collections. The collection is a comprehensive look at the life and work of an influential educator, researcher, and inventor. Carver has the distinction of being the first African‐American enrolled and appointed to the faculty at Iowa State University. In 1896 he accepted an appointment at Tuskegee Institute at the request of its founder Booker T. Washington.
