The 2010 publication of Ruffner's Allusions – Cultural, Literary, Biblical, and Historical represents the third edition of this dictionary since its first publication in 1982 under the original title of Allusions‐Cultural, Literacy, Biblical, and Historical: A Thematic Dictionary.
