According to the back cover blurb of this new edition of The Routledge Atlas of British History, Martin Gilbert has written no less than 82 books. One of the preeminent historians of our time, he is probably best known as the biographer of Churchill and as a prolific writer on twentieth century history, especially both world wars, as well as for books on Israel and the Holocaust. Gilbert has also been prolific in the production of historical atlases, latterly under Taylor & Francis imprint Routledge, this being one of nine books carrying The Routledge Atlas title.
