Although it is over 60 years since Gandhi was assassinated, he still continues to be an influential figure. Interest was rekindled in the 1980s by a major film, and there is a steady flow of books on his life and thought. I would particularly note Louis Fischer's The Life of Gandhi (Fischer, 1997). Longman included him in their Profiles in Power series (Arnold, 2001) and Oxford University Press in their Past Masters series (Parekh, 1997). The editors of this book have both previously published books on him (Brown, 1989; Parel, 2006)...
