A Political Chronology of the World might more accurately have been entitled “A political chronology of the countries of the world”, since it treats them not as a whole, but individually. The 196 sections cover each of the members of the United Nations: Taiwan and Palestine are also included as separate countries, whereas the “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” (note the inverted commas) has a subsection under Cyprus. The contents of the book are derived from the Europa World Yearbook and its more detailed half‐sisters.
