Written by a botanist with a strong background in trees and plants, this lovely book covers such subjects as tree and leaf identification and provides detailed information about leaves. Coombes describes how leaves are often neglected and not given the credit they should. With this work, he tries to remedy this oversight. It covers leaves found on trees throughout the temperate world focusing on angiosperms. Gymnosperms such as pine and spruces trees are not covered in this work.
