Probably the best book I have reviewed over the last 20 years is The Yale Book of Quotations (Shapiro, 2006) (RR 2007/163), edited by Fred Shapiro, so it was interesting to see Denise Montgomery, the compiler of this 800‐page heavyweight, pay him (and one other) homage: “Without the experience, discipline, and organizational skills which I learned while assisting on editing their books, I never would have had the confidence to undertake this book”.
