Michael Allaby has written many books on environmental science and especially on climatology and meteorology. He has produced, with this publication, a very useful dictionary for biologists with an interest in plants or for anyone whose profession or interest includes botany. The dictionary includes entries on all aspects of plant science including biochemistry, plant physiology, cytology, ecology, genetics and evolution from Aapa mires (a type of bog) to zymogenous (organisms whose presence is transient).
