Directory of Open Access Journals

Open access journals have been a boon to libraries and researchers who bemoan the steeply rising costs of scholarly journals. In 2002, at the first Nordic Conference in Scholarly Communication attendees discussed creating a comprehensive directory of open access publications, leading to the creation of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
