The Paranormal Encyclopedia claims to be “providing accurate and unbiased information about the world of the paranormal”, and so tries to distance itself from writings that claim without proof that the unexplained are real, and those that dismiss the unexplained categorically. The entries describe paranormal phenomena without mention of probability or believability or faith. Neutrality is not a new concept, but in the area of the paranormal it exists on thin lines between science and non-science, religion and superstition.
