Having casually accepted the editor’s offer of this book to review, I was somewhat taken aback when I came to look inside it. I have some knowledge of the literature on memory disorders. I have been responsible for a few articles touching on the subject (Guha, 2010) and have reviewed books on aspects of memory in these columns (The Wiley Handbook on the Development of Children’s Memory [Bauer and Fivush, 2014] [RR 2014/167]) and, indeed, have been a major fund-raiser for the Psychiatry Research Trust’s Dementia Research Appeal (www.justgiving.com/psychiatryresearchtrust).
