Reagan left office in January 1989. He has not made it to Mount Rushmore but his eight years in office were interesting and he is certainly ready for a starring role in Wiley Blackwell’s “Presidential Companions”. After 25 years, a considerable body of work has emerged on him, both scholarly and popular. This Companion provides a survey and an evaluation.

Little need be said about the outlines of the book. It is like all the others in the series: a collection of tersely written chapters (in this case, 34 of them) on most aspects of Reagan’s presidency and wider career....
