The Cambridge Companion to Asian American Literature is a survey of Asian American literature from the nineteenth century to the present. Though similar in scope to An Interethinic Companion to Asian American Literature (Cheung, 1997) and Asian American Literature (Adams, 2008), The Cambridge Companion to Asian American Literature offers a broader timeframe of coverage – nineteenth to twenty-first centuries as opposed to twentieth century only – and is structured around the themes related to the Asian American experience rather than entries about specific works and authors.
