This extensive archive brings together a wealth of materials collected to support research in the dramatic arts industry of eighteenth-century England, or, more precisely, the years 1737-1834. The core of the collection is made up of over 2,500 plays from the Huntington Library’s John Larpent collection. Accompanying the plays are the detailed diaries of Larpent’s wife and collaborator, covering the day-to-day events of the London theatrical scene.
