Now in its third edition following close on the heels of the second of 2013 (RR 2014/034), this highly regarded work reflects changing approaches to local history. It is strongly focussed towards local history in the USA and Canada but with single chapters on the British home nations, Australia, Guam and New Zealand. A particular strength is its full coverage of local history state by state in the USA and Canada. American state historical societies are impressive and each one is given detailed coverage on their libraries and publications.
