In June 1983, the libraries of the State University of New York at Albany acquired an Osborne Executive I microcomputer through grant funds. To complete the system, additional money was committed that fall to the purchase of a Daisywriter 2000/1500 letter‐quality printer, and a Trantor Systems five‐megabyte hard disk. The Osborne was supplied with CP/M and p‐System operating systems, and three bundled software packages: WordStar, Personal Pearl, and SuperCalc.
