This study assesses the effect of augmented reality (AR) adoption on the construction lifecycle to provide insight to drive digital transformation of Nigeria’s construction sector.
This study used a quantitative approach, with questionnaire administered to professionals in the Nigerian construction industry using the snowball sampling method. The collected data were analysed using partial least squares structural equation modelling for a thorough assessment of relationships between variables.
The findings of this study support the conceptual framework established. It showed that incorporating AR throughout the construction lifecycle can improve the construction process.
The study was conducted in Nigeria using a cross-sectional study. The study has implications for local construction practices and the broader discussion on challenges and potential solutions in the national construction sector.
The results of this study will greatly benefit professionals, practitioners and other stakeholders in the Nigerian construction industry by providing valuable insights into the potential of AR applications for enhancing value for money throughout the construction process.
