Honeywell introduces high temperature magnetic sensors

Keywords: Magnetic, Sensors, Temperature, Honeywell

Honeywell has introduced a new high temperature magnetic sensor, the HTMC 1021D, to its family of HTMOS® high temperature electronics. For the first time the temperature range of a magnetic sensor can be extended from 125 to 225 degrees Centigrade. The Honeywell HTMC1021D can satisfy low field sensing requirements that have been traditionally performed by flux sensors. Applications include down-hole compassing/heading sensing, proximity sensing,position/angle sensing, and signal transformation.

This new magnetic sensor is small in size and is a low cost alternative to flux gate sensors. It may also be used to replace Hall effect sensors where reliability in high temperature environments is required. The HTMC1021D sensor operates reliably over the full temperature range of -55 to +225 degrees Centigrade and offers a field range of ±6 Gauss. The ceramic dip package is rugged and secure to handle high vibration, hostile environments.

HTMOS® products are based on Honeywell's proprietary silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology developed for aerospace and military markets. These products offer significant performance advantages for sensor signal conditioning and data acquisition in hostile environments over traditional silicon circuits.
