Highlights a selection of key papers covering gas sensor arrays for fire detection, fibre optic sensors for structural strain monitoring and detection of biofouling, fluorescent sensor for detecting algae and thick film sensors for smartcard biometrics. Reviews briefly other papers and draws conclusions.
