Honeywell and Flowserve form global strategic alliance
Honeywell Inc. and Flowserve Corporation have formed a global strategic business alliance designed to merge best-value automation technology with industry leading expertise in flow control technology. The alliance teams of Honeywell Industrial Automation and Control with Flowserve's Flow Control Division and its line of Valtek control valve products will provide what they claim to be unparalleled asset reliability management and process control solutions to the process industries. The resulting advantages to users are claimed to be increased system up-time and reduced maintenance costs and even tighter control loop performance.
The alliance launches a cooperative sales pursuit of global automation projects and joint product developments. Honeywell and Flowserve will work closely on a global basis to pursue complete automation projects that include measurement transmitters,process control systems, control valves and asset maintenance solutions.
Joint product developments will leverage Honeywell technology leadership in process automation and control solutions with Flowserve's leadership in control valves and intelligent flow control solutions. The initial focus of the joint development programs will result in three significant deliverables: first, a digital interface of the complete Valtek control valve portfolio to the Honeywell TotalPlant®Solution (TPS) system utilising the Valtek StarPac digital positioners; second,a Foundation Fieldbus valve positioner family that incorporates Honeywell PID capability for enhanced control performance; and third, a world-class Field Maintenance Solution Centre dedicated to the advancement of predictive and preventive equipment health management that will actively involve end users,engineering contractors, and academia.
