With a range of products including analogue and digital accelerometers, threshold accelerometers, thin film links and resistors, slapper detonators, microsensors, contact fuse/impact sensor, and microprocessor based subsystems, systems, and software, Silicon Designs has annual sales of about $1.5 million. Silicon Designs Inc. is also capable of electronic, circuit, system, and product design. Micro-machining and thin-film development, ASIC, hybrid, microsensor, and PC board design. It has a custom developed automatic test facility and is involved in product development, manufacturing, marketing and product improvement.

A reasonable Web site with adequate company and product information, although it is let down by a rather unsettling yellow background and pink button backgrounds!

As part of the University of Cincinnati, the Centre for Microelectronic Sensors and MEMS (CMSM) has a comprehensive and well laid out homepage. The Centre for Microelectronic Sensors and MEMS is fully equipped with facilities to research the design, fabrication and characterisation of MEMS structures and devices on chips with integrated circuits. This site has a very nice look and feel to it, with plenty of information about current research topics and MEMS related conference links.

National Instruments provides a range of products for data acquisition, data analysis and instrumental control. This includes manufacturing IEEE 488 interfaces, plug-in DAQ boards, VXIbus controllers and instrumentation software. With online news, product information, technical support, industry and academic solutions, seminars and events, jobs, company information and a list of world wide offices, this Web site not only looks good, but contains plenty of useful and interesting information. This site is well worth a visit and, with the site map being a useful tool, is easy to navigate, although it should be noted that with the logical layout, it is hardly necessary.

Established in 1962, Omega provides a complete range of data acquisition, electronic heating and custom engineered products. Omega also offers more than 40,000 state-of-the-art products for the measurement and control of temperature, humidity, pressure, strain, force, flow, level, pH and conductivity. The collection of information on both the OMEGA Worldwide International Web Sites and the native language sites of Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Benelux, Czech Republic and Mexico/Latin America, are combined to produce OMEGAnet. For the casual browser,or even those who know what they are looking for, the Omega Web site directory is an essential place to visit. The directory is split into 12 sections, some of which have a number of sub-sections and include: product information, with a product showcase, online publishing system and handbook master index; software demos of DasyLab data acquisition software, DataTalk RS232 data collection and management software and many more; custom engineering, with technical tips and frequently asked questions; customer services; about Omega; what's new;technical references, covering general, product, environmental and data acquisition information; literature and handbooks; affiliated companies and Omega worldwide.
