In June 1985, at the tradition‐steeped University of Paris, in one of the oldest European Institutes of higher learning — the Sorbonne — was set the scene of a conference on tourism training organised by the World Tourism Organisation. The event attracted experts in the fiels from 72 countries from all over the world.
