Article Type: Editorial From: Tourism Review, Volume 64, Issue 1

Dear readers

Thanks for your continuous support of Tourism Review. With this issue we open the 64th volume of the worlds’ oldest tourism journal.

This copy contains four papers. The first one by Kuruüzüm, IpekçiÇetin and Irmak is aimed at determining the structural relationships between job involvement, job satisfaction, and three dimensions of organizational commitment (i.e. affective commitment, normative commitment, and continuance commitment) in the Turkish hospitality industry. The second paper by Laimer and Weiss is more of a methodological contribution giving an overview about using Portfolio Analysis (PFA) as a tool for analysing tourism flows. In the third paper, again methodological in nature, Lohmann and Schmücker address the issue of methodological limitations of online surveys by comparing and discussing data from a face-to-face and online access panel survey. The final paper by Maggi and Padurean on higher tourism education discusses how tourism, wealth and higher education are linked, and whether current location of higher education in tourism is somehow related to the importance and role of tourism in a country.

We wish you a prosperous and happy 2009.

Kind regards

Thomas Bieger and Christian Laesser
