Why are we waiting? Observations on how UK public libraries are using the World Wide Web Available to Purchase

Observation of public library Websites indicates that librarians' contributions to content creation and electronic service provision is still in its infancy. This article looks at some of the reasons for this and emphasises that librarians should be using their skills now to create content of real value or risk being bypassed by others more prepared for the electronic age.
