Discusses case studies of small and medium‐sized companies in which the Queensland Manufacturing Institute (QMI) has facilitated improved product development processes using simple methodology, teamwork and a“toolbox” concept. The involvement of QMI allowed the companies to try new processes and supporting technology in a reduced risk environment.
