Corrigendum: A flipped classroom with whiteboard animation and modules to enhance students’ self-regulation, critical thinking, and communication skills: a conceptual framework and its implementation

It has come to the attention of the publisher that the article Suwardika, G., Sopandi, A. T., Indrawan, I. P. O., & Masakazu, K. (2024), “Flipped classroom with whiteboard animation and modules to improve students' self-regulation, critical thinking and communication skills: conceptual framework and implementation”, Asian Association of Open Universities Journal, 19(2), 135–152. Link to the website, did not sufficiently report the details of the ethics approval or informed consent for this research within the body of the manuscript. This research was approved by the Institute for Research and Community Service of Universitas Terbuka (LPPM UT Pusat; B/579/UN31.LPPM/PT.01.03/2023) 20 February 2023, and it was conducted at UPBJJ-UT Denpasar under institutional permission (B/102/UN31.UT77/PT.01.05/2023) on 8 March 2023 following appropriate ethical guidelines. Ethical approval was also obtained from the Research Ethics Committee of Universitas Terbuka (B/1768/UN31.LPPM/PT.00/2023) on 19 May 2023. Prior to the implementation of the study, students who were willing to participate were given clear information regarding the research process, including the purpose of the study, the learning activities involved, the voluntary nature of participation, and the use of the collected data for academic publication. Students were informed that their participation was voluntary and that the data collected would be treated confidentially. The data used in the study were anonymised and no personally identifiable information was included in the published article. The study was conducted in an educational setting, involved routine learning-related activities, and was considered to pose minimal risk to participants. The Asian Association of Open Universities Journal author guidelines make it clear that authors have an ethical obligation and responsibility to conduct their research in adherence to national and international research ethics guidelines, as well as the ethical principles outlined by their discipline and any relevant authorities, and to be transparent about their research methods in such a way that all involved in the publication process may fairly and appropriately evaluate the work. The authors sincerely apologize for this mistake.
