Guiding the buyers. A Saying containing considerable truth is ‘It's one thing to know what you want but it's just as important to know where to get it’. Time, these days, is a valuable commodity and much of it is wasted in trying to find sources of supply. In industry this may often be of considerable importance and that is the reason why a successful industrial company will, more often than not, be found to have an efficient buying organisation. The job of a buyer in any manufacturing organisation is arduous and specialised: he must be conversant with products covering a variety of industrial fields, of their price ranges, deliveries and dependability.
