Intel‐crystalline corrosion of zinc‐aluminium‐copper alloys. These alloys undergo intercrystalline corrosion if admixtures of Pb, Cd, Sn, Th and Bi exceed certain small limits. In damp air, corrosion proceeds at the grain boundaries, the extent of which may be determined by the high potential difference between the beta‐Al‐rich phase and the more noble impurities. Conventional methods of indicating such corrosion are noted. The subject is here again reviewed on the basis of further experimental work to gain insight on the respective significance of low and high Al alloys and the effect of the Cu constituent.
