ITRI analyse the chemical composition of passivation films applied to tinplate. Research is currently being undertaken by the International Tin Research Institute into the composition of the passivation film applied to tinplate which can play an important role in the materials performance regarding lacquering, printing, weldability and corrosion resistance.
