Piping manufacturer "couples" up to Plascoat PPA571

One of Europe's leading manufacturers of quick coupling piping is offering Plascoat's advanced PPA571 thermoplastic coating as a standard option where a high level of corrosion resistance is required.

Sweden's Alvenius Industrier has invested around £400,000 in extensive coating facilities,including a fluidised bed line, at its complex to the west of Stockholm as international customer demand for thermoplastic pipeline protection grows.

According to Alvenius it selected a thermoplastic because of the general benefits of being more flexible and less process dependent than epoxies, while Performance Polymer Alloy PPA571 offered a range of specific properties including a high level of resistance to impact damage.

A six-fold increase in the use of PPA571 for internal and external pipe and fixings coating is expected by Alvenius over a three year period across a broad range of specialized pipeline applications, including construction, mining, the chemical and petro-chemical,paper and food stuffs industries.
