Another company making use of Winn & Coales' materials is Transco, which has recently laid a 7.5km,200mm diameter gas pipeline at Weymouth to feed a local power station. Again,the work was carried out by pipeline contractors A. Hak.

Transco chose Winn &Coales Denso Protal 5900 brushing mastic, based on a two-pack epoxy, for protection of butt welds along the length of the pipeline. In addition, Denso Protal 5900 brushing mastic was applied on all sections of the fusion bonded epoxy coated steel pipe that were being thrust bored under roads, thus giving additional protection from the abrasive action of the thrust boring operation.

Winn & Coales Denso Protal coatings provide tough, effective anti-corrosion protection by forming a firmly bound corrosion inhibiting coating on the metal substrate and by covering the surface with a thick, effective physical barrier against air and moisture.
