Co-extruded seamless tubing has higher stress resistance

High-temperature,high-corrosion-resistance tubing upgraded for higher allowable design stresses has been released by Inco Alloys International Inc., Huntington, West Virginia. The coextruded duplex tubing, Incoclad 671/800HT, is used for super-heaters and reheaters in power plant boilers, high-temperature recuperators, and for coal gasification and liquefaction technologies.

The product reportedly combines the high-temperature strength and corrosion-resistance of the Incoloy alloy 800HT tubing (upgraded from alloy 800H), with the corrosion-resistance of cladding in Inconel alloy 671.
