That the new Flexiplugs from Moss Plastic Parts are designed to be used as either a plug or cap to offer a truly versatile, easy fitting and cost-effective method of protection for a wide variety of plain and threaded holes and studs (Plate 8). Manufactured in a choice of standard or high temperature flexible PVC to suit both general industrial protection and masking applications, the Flexiplugs are the latest in the comprehensive new generation of products which Moss is now producing in its own in-house dip moulding facility.

According to Moss the flexible PVC material ensures that the Flexiplug is exceptionally resistant to tearing, splitting and shredding and also enables it to be easily inserted into open ports to form a tight seal against the ingress of dirt and moisture during production, storage and transportation of components. This flexibility also makes the Flexiplug very easy to remove, particularly when used as a plug, and this is aided by an integral pull flange moulded on the outer rim.
Flexiplugs for general protection applications are produced in black flexible PVC, with other colours available to special order. For use in masking applications in finishing processes such as painting, plating and powder coating Moss produces the Flexiplug in yellow high temperature PVC said to be capable of withstanding temperatures up to +230°C intermittently and +200°C continuously.
Moss Flexiplugs are available ex-stock for immediate delivery in a choice of ten sizes which, when used as a cap, will fit stud diameters from 4.4mm to 27.4mm. When used as a plug the Flexiplug range covers hole diameters from 7.2mm to 30.2mm, UNF thread sizes from 5/16" to 13/16" and metric sizes M8 to M33.
