French water industry follows DWI PPA571ES coating lead

Keywords: Water industry, France, Plascoat, Coatings

It is reported that France has followed the lead set by the UK's Drinking Water Inspectorate and opened up the opportunity for its water industry coaters to switch to Plascoat's cost-saving PPA571ES from traditional coating materials.

It has been confirmed that Plascoat's PPA571ES Blue 536 meets the requirements of the Direction Générale de la Santé (DGS)directives and the standard AFNOR XP P 41-250-1/2/3 with reference to the use of the coating material in contact with drinking water.

The French approval comes at a time when international legislation on volatile organic compounds (VOCs) used in coating primers is becoming tighter.
