An excellent review of methods for corrosion rate determination

Keywords: Corrosion, Electrochemical corrosion

Drs John Scully and Rob Kelly of the University of Virginia have published a very complete review of the various methods, electrochemical and others, for the determination of corrosion rate. Uniform corrosion, pitting, electrochemical noise, galvanic corrosion, paints, and nonelectrochemical methods are discussed. The review can be purchased from ASM International. It can be found in the ASM Handbook as “Volume 13A – Corrosion: Fundamentals, Testing, and Protection”. The ASM Handbook costs about $220 US, but you can order Volume 13A from the ASM Library by calling (800) 336-5152 (US and Canada),Extension 5476 and requesting that a copy of Volume 13A by mailed to you.
