Specialty Coating Systems, Inc. (SCS), a former business unit of Cookson Group plc headquartered in Indianapolis, has been acquired by Bunker Hill Capital, L.P. (BHC). BHC is a private equity firm with offices in Boston and San Diego, Calif. BHC’s strategy is to invest in sound businesses that have leading market positions with the ultimate goal of supporting greater growth initiatives.
SCS, which will continue to do business as SCS, is the worldwide leader in specialized conformal coating technologies and operates ten coating facilities throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia. SCS has been engineering and applying thin-film Parylene polymer coatings to critical components in the medical,electronics, automotive, and military industries for nearly 35 years. Additionally, SCS designs and manufacturers liquid-spray, dip and spin coating systems, and ionic-contamination test systems.
