Prospects for future sales of Rolls‐Royce RB 211 engines are enhanced by the Lockheed decision to propose new versions of the L‐1011 TriStar airliner for service in the 1980s. Rolls‐Royce has aready delivered RB 211 engines and spares worth nearly £430 million to power TriStars — over £400 million of this was export business.
