Sandy Liu named China Airlines' president

The board of directors of China Airlines of Taiwan has voted to formally appoint Mr Sandy K.Y. Liu president of the company.

Mr Liu has been acting president for the past five months and under his management the airline's passenger load factor has increased to 71 per cent and cargo load factor to 83 per cent in the first quarter of 1999. Revenue has also increased and China Airlines' fleet renewal programme is continuing successfully.
