Italian airline Alitalia has selected Messier-Bugatti's wheels and carbon brakes for its 23 Airbus A320 and A319 twin-engine jetliners. Alitalia's current fleet of six A320s, which will be retrofitted, will be joined by 17 new aircraft– five A320s and 12 A319s – along with 12 options. All new aircraft will be delivered with Sepcarb lll-Plus carbon brakes, the latest technology designed by Messier-Bugatti.

The first production shipset began delivery in April, with other deliveries continuing through March 2004 and 2006 for the options.
