Colour select – the fast way to select Walter's indexable inserts

Tooling system specialist Walter GB of Redditch has extended its Walter Colour Select colour-coded selection system that enables users to quickly and accurately choose the correct indexable insert for specific machining requirements.
The workpiece material groups N (NF metals and Al alloys) and H (hardened materials) have now been added to the existing groups of P (steel), M (stainless steel) and K (cast iron). Each is assigned an unambiguous (ISO colour coded)indexable insert colour.
For machining NF metals and Al alloys (green), the user selects copper-coloured inserts; for hardened workpieces up to 65 HRC (white), users are directed to anthracite- coloured inserts; for machining steel (blue) the user selects Walter's gold-coloured inserts; For machining stainless steel (yellow),users choose champagne-coloured inserts; for machining cast irons (red), users select the black and gold Tiger tec inserts.
