A new actuator with a stroke of 18½ in. is being made by Plessey. It provides automatic control for door operation and similar applications where the movement given by conventional actuators is insufficient. It operates with a normal working load of 350 lb. and a maximum working load of 900 lb., the operating time being 23 seconds with load opposing, and 18 seconds with load assisting.
