ALTHOUGH the 1962 Statement on Defence, and the associated Army, Navy and Air Estimates for 1962–63, which were presented to Parliament last month, contain no major surprises or basic changes of policy, there is welcome evidence of increasing efforts to standardize equipment between the various fighting services, and to co‐operate with our allies over research and development.
